A junior football team is hoping sponsorship from Eton Environmental Group will help it hit the back of the net this season.
In the 2022/23 season, Leven AFC Under-11s are being sponsored by Eton Environmental Group.
It means the logo of the national health and safety building compliance company, which has its head office in Darlington, will be seen on the back of the training tops worn by the children who play in the Teesside Junior Football Alliance (TJFA) League.
It forms part of Eton’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme which sees it supporting grassroots sports, charities, and other not-for-profit organisations in its operating areas.
Eton Director Joanna Shaefer said: “We have been in business for 18 years and throughout this time, and as we have grown, we have always sought to give something back to the communities in which we work across the UK.
“Many of our staff are involved with youth football teams, so we are pleased to be able to support grassroots sports like this which bring so much enjoyment to the children and their parents.
“It’ s even more important now given the circumstances of the last few years where children were unable, for long periods of time, to play the sports they love, so to see them back on the football, cricket and rugby pitches is fantastic.
“Leven is a club close to out hearts for many reasons, so we wish the boys the best of luck in the new season.”
As well as grassroots sports, Eton also regularly supports food banks and it makes donations, via requests from current customers, to various charities, including hospices and cancer research.
