AN event in aid of a children’s charity supported by Eton Environmental Group raised a few pennies short of £20,000

Eton’s Commercial Director Adam Benson was one of the volunteers at this summer’s weekend VW festival in Leeds, where Cash for Kids was the charity partner of VW Festival.

With the help of his daughters Ivy and Elsie, Adam walked around the site at Harewood House promoting the raffle of a restored Volkswagen Beetle which was the top prize.

This, along with other items raffled helped to raised an outstanding £19,999.49 which will go towards the work of Cash for Kids in North and West Yorkshire.

Adam said: “We have been a proud supporter of Cash for Kids over the year, particularly helping with the Mission Christmas campaign where we have used our vans to pick up toys from collection points across West Yorkshire.

“The VW festival was fantastic, and it was great to be able to help by promoting the raffle to people who attended.

“Ivy and Elsie loved it as well and have already asked if they can do it next year!”

Cash for Kids’ mission is to improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people in local communities who are affected by poverty, illness, neglect or have additional needs. They believe that all children should be able to express their individuality, achieve their potential and live life to the full.

The charity work with grass-roots organisations that aim to make a difference to young lives, directly supporting families who often have nowhere else to go.
