Grassroots football

Eton Environmental Group has continued its support of local grassroots football by sponsoring another team.

We paid £350 to buy strips for Whinney Banks Under-7s, who play in the Teesside Junior Football Alliance (TJFA) League.

The sponsorship is paying off because at the time of posting, the lads sported a record which reads, played 12, won 10, drawn 1 and lost 1, with 92 goals scored against 37 conceded.

Whinney Banks are the second team in the TJFA league to receive sponsorship from Eton this season, with Leven AFC Under-12s Royals also being supported by the company, which has its head office in Darlington.

Eton, which provides health and safety building compliance services, such as asbestos surveys, fire risk management and legionella risk assessments, is also sponsoring a youth football team, Hinksey Park Under-7s in Oxford, which is close to its southern office in Berkshire.

Eton Director Joanna Shaefer said: “As part of our corporate social responsibility programme, we support various organisations and charities across the UK each year.

“Many of our staff are involved with youth football teams, so we have always been particularly keen to help with grassroots sports like this which are such a big part of our local communities.

“We are delighted that Whinney Banks are doing so well this season and that the team are enjoying playing in their new kit.”
