Eton Environmental Group was delighted to have done its part in helping to ensure that all disadvantaged children in West Yorkshire had a present to open at Christmas.
As part of the Mission Christmas Cash for Kids Campaign, our Commercial Director Adam Benson spent a day picking up over 700 toys from eight collection points across the county.
He then brought them to a central warehouse in Leeds where they were sorted into age categories for boys and girls, before being wrapped and picked up by individual charities who distributed to the children in time for Christmas.
This year’s local appeal, which was coordinated by Radio Aire, resulted in 26,143 children in West Yorkshire receiving a present. Nationally, an amazing 380,054 children found a present waiting for them under their Christmas tree.
Adam said: “We were delighted to support a charity which worked tirelessly to ensure that thousands of disadvantaged children in the area had a Christmas present.
“Eton does a lot of work in West Yorkshire and it’s nice to be able to give something back by donating our time/resources to helping our local communities.
“We pride ourselves on our approach to corporate social responsibility, with particular regard to the environment and local charities, and this is just one of many examples of how we provide support throughout the year.”
