Eton Environmental Group is pleased to have achieved the very latest asbestos testing accreditation from the national body responsible for accrediting organisations in the UK.

We have now been accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) to the both the ISO 17025:2017 and ISO 17020:2012 standard.

In the case of the 2017 standard, we have achieved this well ahead of the 2020 deadline set for organisations to complete the transition from the 2005 version.

This means we continue to be an Asbestos Testing Body to ISO/IEC17025:2017 which encompasses testing performed at permanent laboratory premises (bulk analysis) and away from the permanent laboratory (air testing and four stage clearance).

We also undertook an increase of scope to our ISO 17020:2012 accreditation. This means we are now accredited additionally for priority assessments and re-inspections in addition to surveying work, ensuring all the work we undertake is covered by the same quality standard.

Eton Environmental Group Quality Manager Andrew Graham said: “We went through a journey of transition to the new 2017 standard and after providing evidence to UKAS as part or our annual assessment, they were able to grant us accreditation to the new standard.

“This is ahead of the 2020 deadline set and at which time organisations who have not made the transition will lose their accreditation completely.

“We’re also pleased to have increased the scope of our other UKAS accreditation which now also covers priority assessments and re-inspection.

“As a responsible company which has been providing asbestos surveying and testing services for 15 years, it is essential that we maintain the highest standards of quality and one of the ways we demonstrate this is through the accreditations we hold.

“It means that anyone engaging Eton’s services can rest safe in the knowledge that they working with a company committed to quality excellence.”
