Eton Environmental Group was recently delighted to support a golf day in aid of a charity which provides home-based hospice services.
We entered a team in the annual Herriot Hospice Homecare charity golf day.
The event was this year, for the first time, staged at the prestigious Rockliffe Hall Golf Club in Hurworth, near Darlington. This is just a few miles from our northern head office in Darlington.
The golfers were treated to breakfast rolls before tackling the 7,870-yard course, playing the Stableford handicap-based points system.
After the golf, there were prizes given out for the top scoring teams and Eton’s team came a very credible second. Individual prizes for nearest to the pin and longest drive and raffle prizes, including a four-ball at Rockliffe Hall, a cricket ball signed by Sir Ian Botham and packs of golf balls were also presented.
The players then sat down for a two-course evening meal.
A total of £1,500 was raised for Herriot Hospice Homecare, a North Yorkshire-based charity which helps people with life limiting illnesses.
Fergus said: “Everyone had a really good day and it was fantastic to be able to contribute to such a worthwhile charity. We are now looking forward to doing it again next year.”
