Eton Environmental Group were proud sponsors of a charity football match in memory of a man who died from cancer.

Following the death of Ian Kitchen (affectionately known as Kitch), his family and friends, including Eton’s Adam Benson, organised a football tournament called ‘Kitch’s Bigger Football Bash’.

We were one of the companies who paid £250 to sponsor the tournament, which involved ten teams of seven players.

There was also food and beer tents, water zorbing, bouncy castles, face painting and lots more for families.

The event, at Rothwell Athletic Football Club, near Leeds, was a great success, raising over £3,000 for Cancer Research and St James’ Neo Natal Unit.

Adam, who managed a team to the semi-final, said: “It was a great day and to raise so much in Kitch’s memory was fantastic.

“Kitch loved football and ran local teams at Rothwell, so he would have been delighted that we staged an event like this.

“Eton was proud to have been on the sponsors.”
